Real Madrid are reportedly leading the chase for French star Benoît Trémoulinas according to Football.fr. The 23 year old is a product of the youth academy at Bordeaux where he remains and the left back has become a more important part of Bordeaux’s squad in the last year or so, leading to big interest with Real believed to have been joined in their interest by German giants Bayern Munich along with Italian duo Fiorentina and Inter Milan.
Trémoulinas, who has been referred to as the ‘Next Bixente Lizarazu’, is reportedly the subject of attention for Real scouts who are said to have been watching him closely with plans for a January switch to the Bernabeu afoot. The left back position is probably the weakest in the current Real Madrid squad and Manuel Pellegrini is looking to fill it to ensure his team are at full strength to battle Barcelona for the Primera Division title.
Trémoulinas has been a regular for Bordeaux so far this season, making 13 appearances to date and having largely impressed which has led to the interest from the big clubs. Having been born and raised in Bordeaux the defender may be reluctant to leave Bordeaux but Real will offer everything in their power to ensure that the Frenchman makes the move to the Bernabeu as soon as possible.
