Real Madrid have been handed a fresh injury below, with the news that defender Nacho has injured his medial collateral ligament in his left knee (via realmadrid.com).
Will Zinedine Zidane last the season at Real Madrid?
Marca claim that the Spaniard will be ruled out for two-and-a-half months with the untimely knock, sustained in Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw against Club Brugge in the Champions League.
A challenge in the first half left the 29-year-old in pain and he was replaced at half time, with Marcelo taking his place.
This comes as yet another blow for Los Blancos, who are already missing summer signing Ferland Mendy with a muscular injury and Marco Asensio with a ruptured ACL.
The latter of those two names is not expected to be back to full fitness until February at the very earliest, though Mendy is in line for a return later this month (per Transfermarkt).
Here’s how Madrid fans reacted to the latest piece of injury news on Twitter:
Ok, I’m playing left back then.
