Marca report that Real Madrid wide man Gareth Bale is due to feature against Leganes this weekend.
Bale has missed Real’s previous two games with a calf injury, but he is expected to be available for selection against Leganes.
This comes after Bale’s exit looked a certainty in the summer when manager Zinedine Zidane openly admitted that it would be best if the Brit left the Bernabeu, though amid an injury crisis at the beginning of the campaign, the 30-year-old looked to have salvaged his career in the Spanish capital by starting Los Blancos’ opening four matches in all competitions.
However, having been left out of the squad to face Club Brugge in the Champions League at the start of October, Bale reportedly still wants a move away from the club before his contract expires in 2022.
It is the winger’s consistent issues with injuries that are scaring off potential suitors, however, and understandably so. Bale has picked up an astonishing 22 separate knocks since moving to Madrid in 2013, earning himself the nickname ‘Mr Glass’.
If Marca’s reports are to be believed, though, then Bale will be fit and raring to go this weekend against Leganes, hoping to score his first home goal of the campaign at the Bernabeu.
Having Bale back available will be a huge boost to Real, should manager Zinedine Zidane decide to use him. His last appearance saw him bag an assist in a 4-2 win over Granada, while the last match he missed ended in a 1-0 defeat (vs Mallorca).
So, with that in mind, Zidane should definitely start the Wales international if he is available, despite his lack of goalscoring form on home soil.
