Real Madrid are already willing to let summer signing Luka Jovic go out on loan.
That is what is written on Marca‘s transfer round-up, with the Serbian front man only joining the club from Eintracht Frankfurt for €60m (£55m) in June after impressing for the Bundesliga outfit last term.
The forward scored 17 goals in 25 starts last season – only Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Borussia Dortmund’s Paco Alcacer managed more with 22 and 18 respectively.
Jovic also notched 10 for his former club in the Europa League, as they reached the semi-finals of the competition before being knocked out by eventual winners Chelsea.
It seems as though Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane has been left unimpressed with Jovic’s performance throughout pre-season, though, with the 21-year-old still yet to find the net for his new club. Because of this, it now seems he could be sent out on loan for the entirety of the forthcoming 2019-20 campaign.
Despite the above, Jovic’s departure from Madrid still does seem unlikely considering the lack of out-and-out striking options the club have available to them at the moment.
Los Blancos have an abundance of attacking quality in wide attacking areas, including new signing Eden Hazard, though without Jovic it could leave Karim Benzema as the only other recognised centre-forward at the club, with Mariano possibly heading for the exit door.
It’s still extremely early days for the Serbian in Madrid and, although he might have not impressed Zidane in pre-season, there’s still plenty of time for him to prove his worth in a Los Blancos shirt.
Jovic clearly has a lot to give – as proven by his performances against some of Europe’s biggest clubs in last season’s Europa League such as Chelsea – so to allow him to go out on loan this term would be a foolish move.
