# Last minute: The 2 loan signings that would seal Middlesbrough’s promotion

**It’s been a very strong start to the campaign for Tony Pulis’ Riverside outfit. After battling back from a 2-0 deficit away at the Den to draw 2-2, they have won every following fixture and look well placed for a promotion winning season.**

Since that draw in South London at the Den, Boro’ have taken maximum points from Sheffield United, Birmingham and Bristol City without conceding. This is vindication of how good a manager Tony Pulis is when it comes to organising his defences. Middlesbrough not only pose a potent attacking threat, but they have a solid back-line which is difficult to penetrate.

Boro fans will be hoping they can have another crack at the Premier League, after their 2016/17 season ended in relegation from the top-flight. This season looks like the Riverside outfit are well placed to push for promotion, but perhaps a couple more additions could really take them to the next level.

With that in mind, here are two loan signings that would seal Middlesbrough’s promotion…

## Bright Enobakhare

The imposing Nigerian, who is at Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he started his career, would be the perfect option for Middlesbrough as a back-up option for Britt Assombalonga.

Assombalonga is an imposing striker with a lethal eye for goal, but if he were to suffer an injury, it would be a major blow for Boro, and they must plan for such an eventuality.

It will be extremity hard for the strong and physical striker to get a chance in a star-studied Wolverhampton Wanderers team this season. A loan-switch to the North-East would be mutually beneficial for both clubs.

## Ethan Ampadu

The Chelsea centre-back Ethan Ampadu would be a great addition for Middlesbrough. The ball-playing centre-back is very unlikely to get a look in for Chelsea, outside of domestic cup competitions, but he is an extremely talented option.

Just 17-years-old, Ampadu has already made his Premier League debut for the Stamford Bridge outfit, and played first-team football for Exeter City aged just 15.

A loan-switch could help Ampadu learn from the likes of Aden Flint, and he would be a great option if their centre-backs suffered any injuries. Pulis should do everything to get this deal over the line.
