# Latest Man United transfer line could be good for Paul Pogba

**While it was barely a vintage year for the Manchester United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern, many of them are excited about the summer ahead under Jose Mourinho.**

It’d be hard to bet against the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ splashing the cash once again over the next few months, so reports from [ESPN](https://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/3136866/manchester-united-eye-defensive-midfielder-amid-eric-dier-and-tiemoue-bakayoko-links-sources) have our resident Red Devils rather excited indeed.

They [claim](https://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/3136866/manchester-united-eye-defensive-midfielder-amid-eric-dier-and-tiemoue-bakayoko-links-sources) United are keen on signing a new defensive midfielder between now and the start of next season, despite a new deal for Old Trafford legend Michael Carrick. Though the 36-year-old will [reportedly](https://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/3136866/manchester-united-eye-defensive-midfielder-amid-eric-dier-and-tiemoue-bakayoko-links-sources) remain a key member of the squad, Mourinho is [thought](https://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/3136866/manchester-united-eye-defensive-midfielder-amid-eric-dier-and-tiemoue-bakayoko-links-sources) to be keen on another option there.

The likes of Eric Dier, Nemanja Matic and Tiemoue Bakayoko are all touted [within the report](https://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/3136866/manchester-united-eye-defensive-midfielder-amid-eric-dier-and-tiemoue-bakayoko-links-sources) as potential targets, getting the punters in the bar tonight rather excited indeed.

Many of our drinkers believe the right man in the holding midfield berth would really help bring out of Paul Pogba, so they hope the right addition is made.

**Thoughts?**
