Jefferson Montero has spoken of how happy he is to be at Birmingham City during a conversation with Blues TV.
During his interview, the Ecuadorian discussed various topics, including his relationship with Pep Clotet and his Blues debut.
Speaking of the feeling following his first Birmingham involvement, he said: “My first game for the Blues’ team, for me I am very happy because I am smiling again. For the last five months I don’t play and to win this game my confidence on the pitch is 100%.”
He may have only played 10 minutes during that debut, which came at the end of the 2-0 win against Barnsley, but he certainly gave bluenoses an exciting glimpse of what they can expect to see from him.
The Ecuadorian made 1 key pass and 3 dribbles, as per WhoScored, as well as showing off some of his trickery and troubling the opposition defence.
Indeed, on his day, Montero can be quite the tricky customer. Back in the 2015/16 Premier League season, the ex-Villarreal winger gave former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic a torrid time down the flank, which was highlighted by The Telegraph.
This follows a season where he made just one league start and 15 substitute appearances across his time with Swansea City and his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion during the second half of the campaign.
Having been forced to miss the game against Swansea due to the fact he is on loan from them, Montero will be hoping to get back into the team and winning ways against Stoke City on Saturday.
If Birmingham are able to get the best out of Montero then he should be a great asset for the club this campaign.
