Colback and Benalouane suspended

Colback and Benalouane suspended

Nottingham Forest have taken a step backwards under Martin O’Neill. All he’s managed to do since taking charge at the City Ground is ruin the club’s chances of finishing in the play-off places.

Forest will be desperate to return to winning ways today after losing their fourth-straight game against Sheffield United last time out, but they’ll be up against it as they’re set to welcome Middlesbrough to the City Ground.

What’s the News?

Nottingham Forest fans may want to look away as Martin O’Neill is set to be without two key players, as according to BBC Sport’s pre-match team news, Jack Colback and Yohan Benalouane are both suspended.

Yohan Benalouane is banned after being sent off against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last time out.

Jack Colback is serving a three-match ban after picking up his fifteenth yellow card of the current campaign, so he won’t feature for Forest in the remainder of their season.

THE VERDICT

Benalouane’s red card definitely will have angered a number of Forest fans as it was rather controversial to say the least, with at least one man on the cover when the defender made the tackle. His presence at the back against a physical Middlesbrough side will be missed, with Britt Assombalonga looking to add to his tally.

Meanwhile, Colback’s suspension could prove costly for the Midlands club in terms of today’s result as he’s been one of the signings of the season for Forest.

But, overall, results don’t really matter at this stage as there’s nothing to play for.

Nottingham Forest fans, do you think your side can secure a positive result without Colback and Benalouane? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
