The Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been a rowdy bunch in the bar of late, as they look forward to their first season under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola as the clubs new boss.
They are hoping that several new players are signed by City and are also hopeful that the world class manager might be able to get the best out of some of last season’s underachieving stars too.
One player who falls into that category is England winger Raheem Sterling who appears to be struggling with a lack of confidence at the Euros which are currently ongoing in France.
The Guardian are reporting that Guardiola has given the youngster a call during the tournament to discuss his lack of confidence and it is hopeful that the intervention might signal the start of an upturn in the player’s form on the pitch.
One Manchester City fan is sat waiting for the Saturday night karaoke to begin and he thinks that Sterling is a quality player who is simply struggling at the moment, although is of the firm belief that form is temporary and class is permanent.
Manchester City fans, what do you make to this news? Will it do Sterling good? Is the problem his confidence or is there a bigger picture?
