Nottingham Forest handed big injury boost ahead of Sheffield United clash

Nottingham Forest fans here in the Tavern are hoping for nothing less than a win in today’s encounter, after failing to secure all three points in their last two Championship matches.

Aitor Karanka has produced some pretty impressive results since taking over at the City Ground, with a 2-0 win against league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers being a highlight. Although, Forest have struggled to find a leader at the heart of their defence in key matches gone by, with a couple of senior members currently recovering from injuries. But, many of our local residents received some positive news ahead of today’s fixture against Sheffield United, as according to BBC Sport’s pre-match team news, Jack Hobbs could be involved in the clash.

Jack Hobbs has been sidelined for much of the season with a back injury but could be involved at Bramall Lane in today’s Championship encounter, as he continues to make rapid progress on the training ground.

Although, the defender will have to prove his long-term fitness to be rewarded with a regular place in the starting XI, but news of a possible return is good enough for our locals as they’re delighted to see his progress.

The experienced Englishman can offer fight, character and spirit as a role model in the side, and could play a crucial part in the future of the club if they decide to offer him a new deal when his contract expires in the summer.

Landlord’s Verdict:

There’s no doubt that Jack Hobbs could play a key part in Nottingham Forest’s future, as a leader that can help grind out performances against tougher sides. And, news that he could be involved later on today is great for Forest, as Sheffield United will prove to be a stern test.
