Sheffield Wednesday fans here in the Tavern are pleased with how their side has performed recently, as Jos Luhukay seems to be getting things right at Hillsborough.
Interestingly, the Owls have been one of the form teams in the Championship over the past month, as they continue to climb away from the relegation zone with only four games left to play. Although, many of our local residents received some crushing news ahead of kick-off later today, as according to BBC Sport’s pre-match team news, strikers Adthe Nuhiu and Lucas Joao could miss out and Barry Bannan is doubtful.
Indeed, a number of Sheffield Wednesday’s positive results over the past month can be put down to the brilliance of Adthe Nuhiu and Lucas Joao in the final third, as they’ve added a combined eight goals in their last six Championship fixtures. Although, the Owls will struggle to grind out a positive result against an in-form Hull City side later on today, as both players could miss out after picking up knocks against Queens Park Rangers.
And, to add insult to injury, midfielder Barry Bannan is doubtful after he missed their midweek defeat by QPR, which could mean that Jos Luhukay faces a selection headache ahead of today’s fixture.
Sheffield Wednesday will struggle to grind out a positive result without Bannan, Nuhiu and Joao in their side, as all three men have been influential since Luhukay took charge back in January. So, it looks as if the Owls may suffer their third successive defeat, as injuries are beginning to take their toll.
