Trio missing for Karanka as Nottingham Forest travel to Cardiff City

Nottingham Forest fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to secure another three points, after beating Ipswich Town last time out in the Championship.

Indeed, Aitor Karanka will feel confident as his side travel to the Principality Stadium to face automatic promotion contenders Cardiff City tonight, after securing all three points against Ipswich Town last time out. Although, many of our local residents received some negative news prior to kick-off, as according to BBC Sport’s pre-match team news, Joe Worrall, David Vaughan and Lee Tomlin will all miss the game.

Unfortunately, Forest will be without defender Joe Worrall for today’s match against Cardiff City, as he continues to work his way back to full fitness after sustaining a minor injury.

Similarly, David Vaughan also remains out of the side as he continues to battle a persistent ankle injury which has sidelined him since the start of January.

Lastly, Lee Tomlin won’t be able to feature against the Bluebirds later on tonight, as Forest are unable to field him against his parent club after joining on loan in the January transfer window.

Therefore, Karanka is now looking to ring in the changes ahead of today’s match as an upset could be in the offing, with three points helping Forest gain some much-needed momentum.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Nottingham Forest will struggle for creativity in the final third without Lee Tomlin in their ranks, as the attacking midfielder is unable to feature against his parent club. Although, missing Joe Worrall once again at the heart of the defence is a huge blow, as he’s been the standout performer for Forest this season.
