Keeping Jamal Lowe would be Pompey’s best January business

Keeping Jamal Lowe would be Pompey’s best January business

Portsmouth know that there will be bumps in the road but they’re still on course to gain promotion back into the Championship.

Kenny Jackett will be delighted as to just how well his team have played this season, arguably defying his wildest dreams of how well their second season in League One would be.

His team has the right mix of experience but also exuberant players who love to strut their stuff in-front of goal.

Everything is very good around Fratton Park but the January transfer window has the potential to make things very nervy indeed.

Now that Pompey have recruited a few players so far, they need to ensure that their top priority for the rest of the window is not allowing Jamal Lowe to leave the club.

Lowe, (who is valued at £68k on Transfermarkt) is reportedly (as per Sky Sports via HITC) a target for a number of Championship clubs who have seen his brilliant performances this season.

With an impressive ten goals and four assists coming from the wing, Jamal Lowe has really upped his goal contribution and continues to be a nuisance for defenders to try and contain.

At the age of 24, the man who has progressed through the leagues maybe thinking that he should leave in order to gain the opportunity of playing at a higher level with a better team.

Portsmouth on the other hand, will be determined to get those thoughts away from his mind and focus the Englishman on helping Pompey to achieve promotion instead.

With a number of games still to play, Portsmouth simply have to keep their best players to remain in with a chance at gaining promotion back into the Championship.
