Portsmouth are really suffering for form and that could lead to the promotion hopefuls failing to achieve a move back into the Championship.
In a season that started so well, it’s now threatened to turn completely on its head over the last few games, with Pompey only managing one point from their last four league matches.
They do however, have the players capable of turning their fortunes around and their Championship dreams could quickly come back to life.
It’s going to take some work but Pompey are ready for a move back into the Championship, even though they would have to recruit some new players.
Talented players are essential for any teams success and a brilliant capture for Portsmouth could be Watford’s Adalberto Penaranda.
Penaranda, (who is valued at £1.8 million on Transfermarkt) recently became able to play for Watford following a successful work permit application but since he has only managed 94 total minutes of FA Cup football.
Considering how well Watford are doing this season, it may be a surprise to see Penaranda feature any more, apart from the cup competition, with the Hornets locked in a battle for seventh place in the Premier League.
Loan spells have already been a consistent feature of his career so far, especially as he only just got his work permit to play in England.
Yet, with Portsmouth potentially being in the Championship, it would be a great platform for Penaranda to show his qualities before coming back to Watford and breaking into the first-team for good.
Goals have not been an issue for Portsmouth this season but with the addition of the Watford man as well, their chances of a successful season in the second flight would be increased.
