Christian Burgess has become a very popular figure at Portsmouth, which has been signified on his birthday.

This comes with good reason, as Burgess has started 11 times and come off the bench once this season for Pompey, across League One and the Carabao Cup, as per WhoScored.
In the league, he has averaged 1.1 tackles, 1.6 interceptions, 2.8 clearances and 0.6 blocks per game, while also winning an average of 3.9 aerial duels – highlighting how integral he has been for the side defensively.
There are also signs of how his character has endeared him to the fans, with one fan calling him ‘Vegan Van Dijk’ and another referring to the defender as a ‘green machine’.
