With promotion to the Championship still on the line, reaching the next level of English football will determine how Portsmouth’s summer plans pan out.
If Pompey are unable to make it to the play-off final and in turn the Championship, then it is likely the south coast side will be at the centre of attention of teams who are interested in their star players this season, with winger Jamal Lowe likely to be one of the most sought after names.
The Portsmouth attacker has been one of the stars of League One this season, scoring 15 goals and assisting seven, but with interest from Championship sides as initially reported from Football League World, it is likely Lowe could be tempted with a move away if Kenny Jackett’s side aren’t promoted, but a replacement has already been reported.
According to Lincolnshire Live, Lincoln City attacker Bruno Andrade is on Portsmouth’s radar this summer after the Portuguese-born winger fired the Imps to League One after a solid season in League Two, scoring 10 goals and six assists in 42 league games.
Andrade, who has one year remaining on his deal and is approaching the prime years of his career at 25-years-old, would be a solid addition for Portsmouth no matter what happens to Lowe this summer and will add an extra attacking dynamic to Pompey next season.
The Portuguese attacker has proven to be a prolific player no matter what division he plays at having been successful at Boreham Wood before moving to Lincoln, and his goals could be the difference between Portsmouth returning to the Championship next season or retaining their status in the second tier if they are promoted.
Portsmouth fans, would you take Andrade as a summer signing? Let us know!
