Are Sunderland the biggest heartbreakers in the transfer market?

The summer transfer window proved a pretty disappointing time for the Sunderland supporting punters in the Transfer Tavern, who watched on in dismay as their club continually struggled in the market.

Though the Black Cats eventually smashed their club-record to bring Gabon international Didier Ndong on Deadline Day, their squad is still pretty threadbare.

Moves for Steven Naismith, Joe Hart, and Vicente Iborra failed as the pressure on the Wearside outfit to get deals done and dusted, breaking the hearts of Stadium of Light frequenters in the Tavern.

However, perhaps the most disheartened is a former Sunderland PLAYER.

Amid their trials and tribulations in the marketplace, as well as the silliest silly season of them all, it is easy to forget players themselves will want moves of their own.

While, naturally as fans, we associate our feelings with our peers, Yann M’Villa has expressed his dismay on not getting a move to the Black Cats.

Posted as his Instagram story, the French midfielder claimed he had been on the phone to the club, only for them to reject his calls as the summer move broke down.

Nice to see a player obviously wanting to move back to a club so badly!

Sunderland fans, do you think you’ll go down?! Let us know below…
