Bali Mumba agrees new Sunderland deal

Sunderland are believed to be in contract discussions with a number of their key players this season as their deals are thought to be on the verge of expiring in the summer.

The likes of Josh Maja, Lynden Gooch and George Honeyman are all allegedly in talks about extending their stay at the Stadium of Light, however, it appears the Black Cats have managed to convince another man to commit his future to the club.

According to a report by HITC Sport, Bali Mumba is believed to have agreed to his first professional contract with the club.

The details of the alleged deal are not yet known, however, Jack Ross will be delighted to have been able to tie the 17-year-old down as he is widely considered to be one of England’s brightest prospects.

Mumba became Sunderland’s youngest ever captain last season and has featured for the club in a handful of matches so far this season.

The Verdict:

The news that Mumba is believed to have agreed to a new contract will delight everyone at Sunderland.

The teenager, as mentioned, is considered to have a really bright future in the game and is already highly-thought of by Ross, as he continues to involve him in his matchday squads.

What will be more pleasing about a deal for the midfielder is that Premier League clubs had been monitoring his progress and they will be delighted to have tied him down to a professional deal before anyone else had the chance to do so.
