After two seasons of crushing consecutive relegations, Sunderland have seemingly had a positive transfer window.
Under the new ownership of Stewart Donald and with Jack Ross as the new manager, Sunderland have managed to pull off some great business.
Among the fleet of new signings brought in by Stewart Donald this summer, Luke O’Nien and Charlie Wyke stand out as two superb moves.
Although the transfer deadline has now surpassed, the Black Cats are apparently close to another deal.
According to the Chronicle Live, Sunderland have agreed a deal with Wigan Athletic for the creative midfielder, Max Power but as of yet have not confirmed the deal.
The official deadline may have passed but the club have until seven o’clock to confirm the deal.
Power earned promotion with Wigan from League One last season, where he helped them to the title with five goals and seven assists.
As Jack Ross attempts to pull the club out of League One, he needs quality players who have experience of playing in a tough league – Power has that.
The 25-year-old has made 148 appearances in League One and could provide some crucial depth in Sunderland’s midfield.
With Didier Ndong’s future at the club uncertain combined with the young pair of Ethan Robson and Elliot Embleton, Power would provide some valuable experience to the squad.
A mainstay at Wigan last year, Power could be an absolute steal for Jack Ross if the deal is confirmed.
Sunderland fans, what do you think?
