Dream February: Sunderland - League One

Sunderland currently find themselves sitting in fifth position in League One, but they still have a number of games in hand over all of the teams above them.

The Black Cats will feel confident that they can go and secure an automatic promotion place in the current campaign, with their January transfer window additions set to play a monumental part.

Indeed, the month of February could turn out to be crucial for Jack Ross’ side, with the opportunity to climb into the automatic promotion places if they put an end to their recent consistency troubles.

With that being said, here is the dream February for Sunderland…

LEWIS MORGAN MAKES INSTANT IMPACT

Sunderland managed to secure the services of Lewis Morgan back in the January transfer window.

The Scotland international was impressive during his time at Celtic, but he just wasn’t able to secure regular minutes under Brendan Rodgers during the first half of the current campaign.

Indeed, Jack Ross’ side have been dominant in the final third in the current campaign, but they’ll be hoping that their January signing can make an instant impact at the Stadium of Light. Morgan has the ability to take them all the way to the Championship, with a strong month from him helping them climb into the automatic places.

SOAR INTO AUTOMATIC PLACES

Sunderland have dropped a number of points in recent times from promising positions, which has made it difficult for them to climb into the automatic promotion places.

However, with two games in hand over Portsmouth and three games in hand over Luton Town, it’s vital that the Black Cats start closing out games as they could soon find themselves heading for promotion if they do so.

Indeed, Sunderland aren’t currently scheduled to face any of the teams above them in the next month, so February could turn out to be a month to remember as they have the perfect opportunity to soar into the automatic places.
