Ethan Robson hoping latest injury is not too serious

Sunderland are one of the fortunate sides this weekend as they will be able to take full advantage of the international break.

Their match against Blackpool this weekend has been postponed because of call-ups and Jack Ross can look to give his side a well-earned rest ahead of another important run of games.

The Black Cats head into the break of the back of two impressive wins; one against Bradford City in League One with the other coming in the Checkatrade Trophy against Carlisle United.

Ethan Robson had excelled in the game against the League Two outfit in midweek, however, he had his time cut short on Tuesday as he had to leave the pitch with an injury.

Good to be back out there last night gutted to have had to come off with an injury, hoping it’s not too serious #safc

The 21-year-old took to Instagram to reveal that he was “gutted” to have picked up the injury and hoped that it was not too serious.

The Verdict:

Sunderland and Robson will be hoping the injury is not too serious and he will be able to recover from the knock in quick fashion.

The 21-year-old had looked excellent during the match against Carlisle on Tuesday and also managed to bag a goal shortly before having to be withdrawn from the game.

The midfielder has had a difficult season at the Stadium of Light already, having not been able to feature for the side in their quest for promotion to the Championship and he and the Black Cats will be hoping that this latest concern will not set him back further.
