Sunderland will head to Gillingham on Wednesday and will have received a timely injury boost ahead of the trip to Kent.
The trio have all recently been on the Black Cats lengthy injury list recently, with Matthews becoming the latest man to have joined it when he had to limp off in their 3-0 victory against Scunthorpe on Sunday.
However, it appears the knock he received was not too serious and he will be available for the trip to Kent, as will Love and McGeouch.
Four of Ross’ players still remain unavailable for the League One encounter, with Charlie Wyke, Tom Flanagan, Aiden McGeady and Duncan Watmore all still out for the Black Cats.
Wyke is thought to be ahead of schedule as he looks to recover from an injury he picked up in pre-season whilst he was still at Bradford City.
Sunderland have been on a fine run of form and will want to continue that against Gillingham on Wednesday.
Ross’ side have managed to cope with the absences and will feel confident that they can do so once again, with the likes of Josh Maja leading the line.
However, the news that Wyke is ahead of schedule will be an added boost to the Stadium of Light outfit as they start to approach the long cold winter months of the campaign.
