Jack Ross provides update on Lynden Gooch’s injury

Sunderland have been hit with a number of injuries already this season, however, that has not stopped their ascent up the League One ladder.

Jack Ross’ side currently sit in the playoffs, having been beaten just once this season although they have been held to a number of draws.

The Black Cats have been without a few of their key players at times and the injury concerns have continued to happen to some of his key players.

However, it appears one of them could be back sooner than first thought, with the manager confirming to the Sunderland Echo that Lynden Gooch’s injury is not that serious.

The American midfielder picked up a knock during their draw with Coventry City at the weekend and Ross believes he could be back in action once the international weekend is over.

“Lynden I expect to train on the Monday after the international weekend,” he told the Sunderland Echo.

“He’ll miss Bradford but then that should be him.”

The Verdict:

Sunderland will be pleased that Gooch will only be out for a short time and will not miss to much action.

The 22-year-old has been an influential man for the Black Cats this season already, having provided four assists and three goals to their League One efforts already.

Having already suffered with the same kind of knock previously, Sunderland will be confident of handling it and will be expecting the American to make a return shortly.
