Sunderland: Keith Downie strikes the wrong chord with Black Cats fans

Many Sunderland fans replied to a tweet from Sky Sport’s Keith Downie, who shared his reaction to the second series of Netflix’s documentary series, Sunderland ‘Til I Die.
Although club director Charlie Methven has been the centre of attention after the release of the latest series, the football reporter specifically focused his attention on Josh Maja’s controversial exit from Wearside.
Downie copped a fair amount of criticism when he suggested the striker wanted to leave the Stadium of Light last January and is clearly making his feelings known.
I repeatedly said last January that Josh Maja had his sights set on a move away for the money well before the transfer window opened, but got slaughtered on here for suggesting such a thing. Hopefully the #SAFC fans can see how things transpired now #SunderlandTilIDie

The 21-year-old netted 17 goals and provided 2 assists in all competitions, before departing for the Girondins, where he has scored 9 times in 31 appearances for Paulo Sousa’s side. Meanwhile, Maja’s successor Will Grigg has only scored once for the Black Cats in League One all season, despite featuring in 20 games.
Take a look at some of the best reactions down below, where one fan urged the journalist to “get off your high horse.”
… anything to add to the latest takeover gossip, Keith? Or you keeping out of it until things are concrete? pic.twitter.com/PCuaQBycmK

Get off your high horse, Keith. Didn’t help matters Stewart Donald was doing podcasts and interviews saying he was signing a new contract.

I don’t think you’re significant enough for fans to remember such an exchange from 15 months ago.
