Sunderland will be desperate to build on their last result against AFC Wimbledon as they take on Oxford United on Saturday, with the chance to pile pressure on the teams above.
The Black Cats find themselves in a great position with a number of games in hand at this moment in time, so supporters will expect nothing less than an automatic place from here on in.
However, the Wearside club received a big setback on the injury front recently, as according to the Sunderland Echo, Lee Cattermole will be out for one or two weeks.
Cattermole was missing from the Black Cats’ squad as they got the better of AFC Wimbledon, after picking up an injury in training late in the week.
“Lee picked up an ankle injury on Thursday,”
“He’s likely to be out for a week or two.”
Lee Cattermole, who is valued at £2.7 million (by Transfermarkt), has been one of the standout performers for the Black Cats in the current campaign as a leader in the middle of midfield.
It comes as a big blow that the Wearside club look set to be without him for a week or two as they’re about to encounter an immensely busy schedule, so his efforts in midfield areas will be dearly missed.
