Sunderland are in a good position to kick on and enjoy promotion straight back to the Championship having enjoyed a strong start to proceedings.
Indeed, everything seems to be coming together under Jack Ross in League One as an automatic promotion place is well within their reach. Although, the Black Cats did wave goodbye to one of their players recently, as according to Luke Molyneux’s personal Twitter account, he has joined Gateshead on loan until January.
Sunderland winger Luke Molyneux has joined National League side Gateshead on loan until January, with an option to extend the deal to a full season.
The youngster made his first-team debut for the Black Cats in a 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in May.
And, the 20-year-old has also featured for Jack Ross’ team in League One, but has predominately played for the under-23 side this campaign.
Sunderland will be interested to see how the youngster fares during his loan spell at Gateshead as he will definitely be one for the future at the Stadium of Light.
Indeed, the Black Cats have produced a number of bright prospects in recent years as the likes of Josh Maja and Joel Asoro have worked their way up through the ranks at Sunderland.
So, Molyneux will be desperate to follow suit once he returns from his loan spell with the National League side.
