Maja continues to dominate, climb into pole position: Sunderland’s dream September
Sunderland have enjoyed a strong start to life in League One but there’s still plenty of improvements to be had as the season progresses.

The Black Cats have been one of the form teams in League One so far this season and they don’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Although, there is still a long way to go with complacency possibly creeping in, so it’s important that Jack Ross’ side can keep their run going through the month of September.

Indeed, the League One club managed to bring in a number of players over the course of the summer and held onto a couple of their shining lights from the last campaign.

Therefore, it’s vital that the month of September is a successful one for Sunderland as this could be the defining month in their campaign, with an unbeaten run possibly helping create an unassailable lead at the top of the table.

With that in mind, here is the dream September for the Black Cats…

JOSH MAJA CONTINUES TO DOMINATE

The Englishman was linked with a move away during the summer transfer window but the Black Cats managed to hold onto him, and they’ll be extremely thankful that they did.

Indeed, the youngster has certainly lived up to the hype in the current campaign as he currently has a number of goals under his belt as one of the hottest prospects in English football.

It’s safe to say that Sunderland could find themselves in pole position to secure promotion straight back to the Championship if Josh Maja can continue bang in the goals, with plenty of supporters heaping praise on the forward.

CLIMB INTO POLE POSITION

Sunderland won’t want to leave it late to push for promotion or even mount a title challenge as things may not turn out well, so instead they’ll want to get ahead of the game by enjoying a successful September.

A number of other clubs in the division have enjoyed similar starts to the Black Cats so it will be all about who can carry their momentum through into future fixtures. And, with one of the relegated Championship sides from last season Burton Albion coming up soon, this could be make or break for Jack Ross’ side this month.
