As reported by The Sun, Sunderland’s on-loan defender Jason Denayer wants to make his deal permanent and leave Manchester City for good with our resident Black Cats fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping something can be sorted.
The 21-year-old Belgian defender has impressed so far this season in his latest loan spell away from City and is believed to want to settle down in the on Wearside.
He has had enough of temporary moves away from his parent club, and as a City source is quoted in the report, he seems keen to make it stick at the Stadium of Light.
“Jason is being kept in the dark over his future at Sunderland, but he likes it up there. He is keen to down his permanent roots somewhere”, they said.
”He doesn’t know if they will go in for him just yet though. The issue with the whole thing surrounds the future of David Moyes, but results have picked up for him recently.”
Indeed, Sunderland’s results have improved in recent weeks. After waiting until only two fixtures ago for their first win of the Premier League season under Moyes against Bournemouth the Black Cats followed it up with a fine display against Hull City last weekend.
They are still in the relegation zone but are now much more in touch with those sides around them and you can sense some genuine optimism emanating from the players and fans alike.
David Moyes’ side play Liverpool this weekend at Anfield and Denayer will be hoping to start in a bid to earn the club another strong result.
