Max Power completes permanent Sunderland switch

Sunderland have confirmed their first addition of the January transfer window as they look to bolster their squad for the second half of the League One campaign.

The club announced via their official website that they had turned Max Power’s temporary switch from Wigan Athletic into a permanent deal.

The 25-year-old has signed a deal to remain with the Stadium of Light outfit until the summer of 2021.

Power has played a key role for Sunderland this season as they look to win promotion back to the Championship.

The midfielder has made 17 appearances in League One so far, however, if it were not for his poor disciplinary record, he would have likely featured more for Jack Ross’ side.

Power has received three red cards so far, however, it appears he did enough to earn himself a permanent stay in Wearside.

The Verdict:

Sunderland will be pleased to have concluded a deal for Power and to have got it done in the early stages of January.

The 25-year-old has played a key role for the Black Cats this season and will look to have a huge influence in helping them to continue their charge of returning to the Championship.

With it being just the beginning of January, Sunderland will have plenty of time to try and get any other potential agreements done.
