McGeady and Leadbitter will make Bristol Rovers look like schoolboys

McGeady and Leadbitter will make Bristol Rovers look like schoolboys

Sunderland will be desperate to build on their last result with automatic promotion still well within their sights, but consistency will be key from here on in.

The Black Cats managed to secure all three points against Gillingham at the Stadium of Light last time out, with two second-half goals saving the day for Jack Ross’ side.

Interestingly, Sunderland will travel to the Memorial Stadium to face Bristol Rovers later on today in their next League One fixture. Rovers are unbeaten in their last three league games and they managed to secure an impressive point against Portsmouth at Fratton Park last time out, so the Black Cats will be in for a tough afternoon.

Nevertheless, this Sunderland PAIR will make Bristol Rovers look like schoolboys today…

Aiden McGeady has been one of the shining lights for Sunderland in the current campaign as he continues to spearhead their automatic promotion push, with nine goals and six assists to his name.

And, he managed to put in yet another quality performance last time out against Gillingham. The Irishman offered a real threat all night and scored from the penalty spot.

Therefore, with McGeady hitting top form in recent times, his pace, skill, dribbling and crossing ability could prove to be too much for Rovers at the Memorial Stadium.

Grant Leadbitter joined the Black Cats last month and it’s safe to say that he’s already found his feet at the Stadium of Light, with his performance last time out against the Gills being his best yet. The experienced midfielder managed to produce a number of dangerous deliveries into the box, two of which led to goals.

Therefore, his pin-point delivery and passing ability will be crucial against Bristol Rovers, as one of his defence-splitting passes could prove to be the difference in what may be a tight game.
