Moyes readies double Sunderland raid as £18m Kone replacement (not McNair and Love)

Sunderland  fans in the Transfer Tavern, this one is for you- and it’s both good and bad news!

Manager David Moyes is keeping an eye on Kara Mbodji and Shane Duffy, should Chelsea or Everton make a move to sign Lamine Kone, report the Chronicle.

With the Toffees having made very few signings this summer and Antonio Conte keen to add to his Blues squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign, both have been linked the Black Cats defender as a potential target.

Still, should the Ivorian leave the Stadium of Light this summer, Moyes already has two options he is thought to want to bring in, should the move go through.

Mbodji is said to be one option, whilst Blackburn Rovers’ Duffy is thought to be the second, if they need to move for another defender.

Both have good experience, with the latter having originally started his career in England with the Toffees.

Ronald Koeman and his Goodison Park charges are reportedly ready to increase their offer to £18m for Kone, which is a fee those on Wearside are unlikely to turn down.

Sunderland fans- is this a swap deal you could learn to live with, or do you want to keep Kone at the club? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
