Sunderland will be desperate to secure promotion straight back to the Championship in the current campaign as they’ve worked extremely hard up until this point.
Jack Ross won’t be too disappointed with the Black Cats’ lapse in concentration against Portsmouth recently as they were due a disappointing result after a long period of dominance.
Indeed, a number of youth players have been given a chance in the first-team ranks this season, but with the race for promotion hotting up there may not be many more opportunities available. So, with the January transfer window looming, the club could look to make use of the loan system.
With that being said, this talented young Sunderland DUO need to wave goodbye in January…
Bali Mumba broke onto the scene against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the last day of Sunderland’s relegation campaign last time around, and he has made six first-team appearances so far this season.
The English midfielder has attracted interest from Manchester City already.
But, a January loan move away would be very beneficial at this stage in his career as he is desperate to enjoy regular minutes, and could easily come on leaps and bounds.
The 20-year-old has started two games under Jack Ross in the EFL Trophy this season, but he has found it difficult to work his way into the first-team in League One as the Black Cats are stacked at the heart of the defence and can’t afford to make any mistakes in their push for promotion.
So, the youngster should look for an exit next month in an attempt to try and secure regular football, which would help boost his development and confidence.
