Sunderland fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping that new boss, Jack Ross can bring some top-notch talent to Wearside this summer.
The Black Cats need to bring in a raft of reinforcements as they go into League One. After back-to-back relegations, the former St Mirren boss will need to add some serious quality to Sunderland if they want to secure promotion back to the Championship. One player who’s been linked with a move to Sunderland due to his link with Ross, is Celtic’s, Lewis Morgan.
The Chronicle is reporting that the Black Cats are keen on securing a loan deal for the Celtic winger. Under Ross last season at St Mirren, Morgan scored 18 goals and 13 assists according to Transfermarkt. Due to his superb performances, Morgan was named the Scottish Championship ‘Player of the Year’ and could be a steal for Sunderland.
The winger could well be convinced to head south of the border to link up with his former boss and according to the report, Ross is keen to bring him in on a one-year loan deal.
The deal would be ideal for the Wearside outfit. Not only would they not need to pay a transfer fee but also the idea of offering Morgan a chance to help his development could be a very promising scenario for both the player and his parent club.
If Celtic bring in more players this summer, Morgan’s chances of playing first-team could well be limited. Ross has already brought in three players this summer and will need to bring in as many as he can to continue his rebuild.
Would you be happy with this deal Sunderland fans?
