Sunderland won’t accept anything less than an automatic promotion place in the current campaign, as they managed to secure a number of impressive signings during the January transfer window.
Indeed, the Black Cats find themselves in a promising position in the race for promotion after securing all three points against AFC Wimbledon yesterday, and they still have a number of games in hand.
The month of February could decide Sunderland’s fate, as they run the risk of losing ground in the race for promotion, as well as January signings possibly not living up to expectations.
With that being said, here is the nightmare February for Sunderland…
KAZIAH STERLING FLOPS
Sunderland signed Kaziah Sterling on loan from Tottenham Hotspur on Deadline Day.
The Englishman has a very bright future ahead of him and he’s already impressed in the the Premier League 2 and other competitions this season. But, he lacks experience and this is his first spell outside of North London, so it may take him a while to adjust to the surroundings in League One.
So, the Black Cats could soon regret bringing the youngster in if he ends up causing more harm than good.
JACK ROSS’ PROMOTION BID TAKES A HIT
Jack Ross has completely transformed Sunderland in the current campaign as the Scotsman continues to promote an attractive style of football at the Stadium of Light.
However, they could soon find themselves slipping down the table if results go against them, with a number of difficult games coming up. Indeed, the Black Cats have failed to make the most of promising positions on a number of occasions already this season, so they could soon find themselves struggling if they fail to enjoy a winning run.
