Sunderland have enjoyed a rather successful start to life in League One as they continue to hunt down an automatic promotion place.
The Black Cats will be desperate to get back to winning ways later on today after being held to a draw last time out at the Stadium of Light.
However, Sunderland will travel to the Pirelli Stadium to face Burton Albion in their next League One encounter. The Brewers have been very impressive in the current campaign and also have their eye on automatic promotion, so this could prove to be the Black Cats’ biggest test yet.
Nevertheless, Jack Ross has some decisions to make in terms of team selection, with a couple of players possibly forcing their way into the side.
With that in mind, these TWO Sunderland men must start today…
The central defender has enjoyed his fare share of minutes on the field so far this season, but he found himself on the substitutes’ bench against Fleetwood Town last time out.
However, with Burton Albion being the opposition later on today, Ross shouldn’t hesitate to gift him a place in the starting lineup ahead of Charlie Gladwin.
The central midfielder signed on loan from Wycombe Wanderers during the summer transfer window but is yet to really stamp his authority on proceedings in League One.
Indeed, the 24-year-old hasn’t really been at his best since making the move to the Stadium of Light, but he would definitely relish coming up against a tough Burton Albion side in Dylan McGeouch’s absence later on today.
