Sunderland currently find themselves with a couple of games in hand over their automatic promotion rivals Luton Town and Portsmouth.
The Black Cats will be desperate to make the most of their games in hand by securing the maximum amount of points, which would put them back in a commanding position in the race for the League One title.
Indeed, the January transfer window could play a huge part in Sunderland’s promotion push, with the opportunity to bring in a number of quality players. But, with a couple of the Black Cats’ first-team members currently struggling for form, perhaps Jack Ross should turn his attention towards clearing some space.
Therefore, Ross has no choice but to send this Sunderland DUO packing in January…
Bryan Oviedo was one of Sunderland’s standout performers towards the start of the current campaign as he secured a number of assists in League One. But, he appears to have fallen off the pace over the past month or so as he continues to find himself on the substitutes’ bench, with Reece James currently ahead of him in the pecking order.
The Black Cats should look to raise funds by selling the South American, who could attract quite a large fee in the January transfer window.
Alim Ozturk signed on a free transfer from Boluspor back in the summer months, but he’s been a spectator for large parts of the current campaign as he continues to live life on the substitutes’ bench.
The 26-year-old currently finds himself at the bottom of the pecking order as far as central defenders are concerned.
Therefore, with the January transfer window approaching and with funds possibly in short supply, Stewart Donald should look to make a profit by offloading the underperforming central defender.
