Sunderland are back in action this evening in Sky Bet League One as they take on Doncaster Rovers and go in search of another important three points for their promotion cause.
The top of the third tier is looking congested at the moment and it really is a case of whichever side building momentum right now being the one to watch.
For Black Cats fans, then, recent results will spark hope that they are the side to achieve exactly that and a win over Rovers this evening would be significant to say the least.
With a week left in the window, meanwhile, there is still time to add to the side if Phil Parkinson so wishes but one man that will not be joining by the looks of things now is Burton man Liam Boyce:

A player that consistently exceeds at this level, fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news, with some supporters raging at the club’s owner Stewart Donald:
Lafferty for free, Boyce for a fee so there was never a hope in hell of sunderland signing Boyce. Donald is a disgrace and always has been. All his promises are empty and he’s only ever been in this for his own ends. Get back to Eastleigh cos that’s his level

Or more than likely because they can’t make room for him by moving out Grigg and/or McNulty.

We still need another striker because Lafferty isn't a proven goalscorer and Wyke, McNulty and Grigg are useless

Donald probably couldn’t up his 74p offer for him.
