Sunderland complete season-long loan deal for Jerome Sinclair

Sunderland have continued to make their squad as strong as possible this summer as they look to get back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

The Black Cats have had an abysmal time on and off the pitch over the last few years and there will be a sense of optimism now they are under new ownership and a new manager.

Jack Ross has already been busy ensuring his side has enough talent in the squad to build a challenge to return to the second-tier with a number of additions, and he has just added another in a position that needed strengthening.

The club’s official website has announced that the Black Cats have completed the signing of Watford’s Jerome Sinclair on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old has become Ross’ eighth signing of the summer and will be confident the former Liverpool man can help with the necessary firepower needed.

The Verdict:

The arrival of Sinclair is a solid piece of business by Sunderland this summer as it could be seen as a coup for the club.

There would have been a concern that Watford would have felt League One football would not have been right for the player, however, the Black Cats have managed to convince both to allow him to join up with them.

The club need a striker that can provide them with the goals to get out of the division and the forward is desperate to prove he can play regular football and find the back of the net.
