Sunderland could be prepared to cash in on one of their stars once the January transfer window opens.
With the 19-year-old’s current deal set to expire at the end of the season, Sunderland are not prepared to lose him for nothing and are believed to have offered him to English clubs for a fee of just £1.5million.
Maja has been in fine form for Jack Ross’ side this season, netting 13 goals in all competitions, and has helped Sunderland climb to 3rd in League One.
It is understood the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton have all kept tabs on the teenager and could make a move for him.
Sunderland will understandably want to keep Maja at the Stadium of Light for as long as possible, however, they will not want to miss out on a fee for him.
With his current contract situation and there being no signs of an agreement being reached, selling him on for a fee in January will likely be one of their only options.
With Premier League interest in Maja, £1.5m could be considered a bargain fee for another club as the 19-year-old is clearly a talented individual and one that appears to have a bright future in the game.
