Our Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Simon Grayson is the man who can put some smiles on their faces.
The former Preston manager has been brought in to replace David Moyes with the idea that he knows how to get sides promoted and, often, on a tight budget.
For sure, he’ll certainly have to work that magic at Sunderland but that isn’t to say they are completely skint – just fairly.
Indeed, they will be able to sign some players and, according to Chronicle Live, Robert Snodgrass is on their radar.
The Scottish international had a season of two halves last year where he excelled with Hull before a move to West Ham in January saw him struggle at the end of the campaign.
For sure, then, he could be open to a move back up north to try and start his career up again and it would certainly prove quite the coup for the men from Wearside.
