Sunderland: Fans debate players of the season

Sunderland fans have been debating who they feel has been the best player and the best young player of the season via social media.
Fans of the Black Cats have not had much to cheer about on the pitch over the last few seasons, having dropped down from the Premier League to League One.
Having struggled to find consistent form this season in England’s third tier, it does look like the Wearside club could be on the verge of missing out on the play-offs, sitting seventh in the league table as things stand.
Debating who has been the club’s best player of the season, many fans mentioned Scottish winger Chris Maguire, who has netted 10 goals and gained 15 assists.
Also looking at the club’s young performers, fans mentioned Luke O’Nien, having seen the 25-year-old perform well at right back and right wing at times this term.
Reacting to a tweet from the Sunderland Echo, fans have been debating who they feel have been the best performers for the Black Cats….

Don’t think anyone one player has shone out consistently, but McGuire gets my nod for his goals.

McGuire by a long shot. Take him out and we’re a bottom half side.
