Some Sunderland fans have reacted to Charlton Athletic’s reveal that Lyle Taylor will not feature again this season for the club.
With the announcement from the English Football League that the Championship season will resume on the weekend of the 20th June, Addicks boss Lee Bowyer revealed that Taylor will be unavailable for action.
Charlton, who beat Sunderland in the play-off final last season to gain promotion to the Championship, are sat in the bottom three as things stand.
Speaking recently on ‘The Conv3rsation podcast’, Taylor revealed that he is yet to receive a new contract offer, whilst also calling the club a “circus”, as per the Sheffield Star.
With his current deal set to expire at the end of June, the article in the Sheffield Star also quotes Taylor as saying he would have earned “more money at Sunderland” than he was earning at the Addicks.
Of course, the striker is a former target of the North East club and he even held talks with then-manager Jack Ross in 2018 before going on to join the Addicks (Chronicle).
Following the news that Taylor looks to be on his way out of Charlton, it seems that many Sunderland fans would be happy to see the 30-year-old to finally join the club…
#SAFC Lyle Taylor has left Charlton. Available on a free.
There are some great bargains to be had if only we had the wit and/or will to get them.
