Sunderland: Fans react to club’s Twitter post - Sunderland

It’s fair to say Sunderland have endured yet another disappointing year on the pitch.

Defeat to Charlton Athletic in the League One play-off final at Wembley left them stuck in the third tier for at least one more season.

A poor start to the campaign cost Jack Ross his job, with successor Phil Parkinson making a slow start to life at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats are without a win in their last eight games in all competitions, last tasting victory in early November’s 1-0 success over Southend United.

Parkinson’s men face two huge fixtures before the end of the year, taking on Bolton Wanderers and Doncaster Rovers, two teams in the bottom half of the League One table.

The club’s official Twitter account posted a GIF, looking ahead to their final home game of 2019.

Still, as you can probably imagine, with the poor form of the team, this was unsurprisingly met with little enthusiasm.
