Sunderland: Fans react to Parkinson’s Wycombe assessment

Sunderland take on Wycombe Wanderers this weekend in what is a big game for both sides in Sky Bet League One.
The Black Cats have had a tough season so far but have shown a few signs of stabilising in recent weeks and a win this weekend against the Chairboys could really give them a boost as they look to push into the top six and beyond.
Wycombe, meanwhile, are aiming to preserve their place in the top two for the rest of the season and will be looking to battle for every ball at the weekend and come away with a positive result.
It should be a pretty close game between the two sides, then, and Phil Parkinson has suggested that the Black Cats will need to be prepared for all of their opponent’s tactics for this one:
PP: Wycombe have done great and they are good at what they do. They disrupt the flow of the game and I would imagine they will be looking to slow things down and we need to be ready to deal with that.#SAFC pic.twitter.com/XNWoCzGLKX

A few fans have read this as the manager getting excuses in early on Twitter, though, so let’s take a look at what they have said ahead of kick-off this weekend:

That's a bit embarrassing.

Sign Lafferty stick him up top and do exactly what they will do to us. Abuse the defenders with a big striker.

Been saying this for a few years now about our strikers, they get bullied far too often
