A lot of Sunderland fans are full of praise for former striker Kenwyne Jones after the club replied to his tweet of him reminiscing of his time in the red and white.
Jones featured for the Black Cats whilst they were still in the Premier League, joining them in 2007 and leaving in 2010. Indeed, he made 101 appearances in all competitions, scoring 28 times and assisting 19, per Transfermarkt.
The Premier League seems like a distant memory for the team, as they now sit in League One but they are fighting for promotion as they currently sit in seventh, level on points with Peterborough in sixth and only one point away from Portsmouth in third. Given how tight the league is, the fight for the playoffs this season is close and every game coming up will be huge if Sunderland want to battle their way back up to the top flight.
With Chris Maguire and Lynden Gooch the only players to hit double figures in the league this season, a player such as Jones would surely be welcome on Wearside right now.
