Sunderland released Lee Cattermole at the end of last season and the 31-year-old now has the job of finding a new club after making 262 appearances for the Black Cats, Transfermarkt.

It looks like the Englishman may have found himself a new club now too, as Eredivisie side VVV-Venlo have tweeted out that the ex-Sunderland man is going on trial with them and could potentially become their latest signing, finally finding himself an outfit after being released by Sunderland on July 1st.
Cattermole wouldn’t be the first Englishman to wind up playing his football in the Netherlands either, and should he sign for VVV-Venlo then he’ll join Jerome Sinclair at the club, a 22-year-old youngster on-loan from Watford.
You can read Sunderland fans’ verdict on Cattermole here:
He suits red and white better. But @VVVVenlo yous had better look after him mind. Hes a walking legend IMO

The Black Cats, from the tweets above, are all keen for Cattermole to succeed at his new club as he gears up for a potential Eredivisie adventure.
