Sunderland finally have a welcome headache ahead of this weekend’s game

After back to back relegation campaign, Sunderland had a major revamp over the summer as Stewart Donald took over the club while Jack Ross was installed as the new manager.

With the two at the helm, Sunderland brought in 12 new players over the summer. Following the arrivals of so many new players, you would’ve thought that it would take time for the team to bed in and adapt to the new manager’s tactics but it’s been so far so good for the Black Cats this season.

Sunderland have won four of their opening games in the league and have so far only lost to Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup.

Ross did have some injury problems within his squad but following on from their positive start to the season, the new boss has confirmed that Glenn Loovens and Adam Matthews are close to full fitness. He also announced that Aiden Mcgeady is making good progress in his recovery but is still some way off from making a return, as reported by the Sunderland Echo.

After so many years of negativity surrounding the club of late, it must be a breath of fresh air for the Sunderland faithful to have something to cheer about. As it stands Sunderland¬†currently sit fourth, two points off the top. They are however going into a big game against sixth-placed¬†Fleetwood Town this weekend but with the club showing such form, there’s no reason why the Black Cats can’t register another win this weekend.

Sunderland fans, what do you think?
