Sunderland: Footage prompts fans to discuss Roy Keane’s time at the club

Many Sunderland fans have looked back on old footage that features Roy Keane’s time in charge of the club.
As you may have seen on Sunderland ‘Til I Die, which follows the staff and players as they drop down the divisions to League One, the club has had some tough times in recent years. The current league standing of seventh in the third tier is a long way from their previous Premier League stints and footage has now been shared via Twitter reminding fans of such times.
Looking back at a time when former Manchester United midfielder Keane arrived to take charge of the Wearsiders, many fans remembered the Republic of Ireland manager’s reign, which saw the club win the Championship in 2007.
With football currently at a standstill, many fans have been engaging in various different social media debates, and it seems the footage of Keane’s Sunderland side beating Luton 5-0 away from home to cap the Championship-winning season has gained a reaction from many Black Cats fans.
Reacting to the tweet of the footage via Twitter account @RokerReport, these fans fondly remembered the former Manchester United man’s time in charge…

Cracking day out. I was so optomistic after that promotion with Keano. Here we are 12 year later stuck in Division 3.
