Sunderland have welcomed boost ahead of Burton trip

Sunderland will be looking to continue their fine start to life in League One when they travel to the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

And, according to the club’s official website, Jack Ross will be able to call upon a plethora of his players for the contest.

Both Charlie Wyke and Jerome Sinclair have both made a return to training recently, giving the Black Cats some added options at the top of the field.

Sunderland could look to keep Josh Maja in the starting XI for the away day, as he looks to add to the five goals he has already netted this season.

The Stadium of Light outfit will also be able to welcome back Aiden McGeady to the side in the near future, as he has also recovered from a lengthy injury spell and marked it with a return to training earlier in the week, although the match against Burton is likely to have come too quickly for the Republic of Ireland international.

However, Ross will be without Max Power as he serves the second of his three-game ban following the red card he received against Oxford United.

Dylan McGeouch is a doubt for the trip as he looks to recover from a minor injury suffered during the week.

The Verdict:

Ross will be looking for his side to improve on their recent run of form with a win against Burton on Saturday.

The Black Cats have drawn their last two League One matches but will have been boosted with the news that Wyke and Sinclair are both available for the game.

Power has been influential for the Stadium of Light outfit in the games he has been involved in and his absence was felt in the game against Fleetwood Town, something that Ross will be hopeful is not replicated against Burton.
