Sunderland hopeful they can offload Didier Ndong this summer

Sunderland are continuing their efforts to put together a squad capable of mounting a challenge for promotion from League One.

The Black Cats will want to get back to the Championship at the first time of asking and Jack Ross has been busy putting a team together to ensure that they have the best possible chance.

The former St. Mirren manager has made a number of additions to his squad, however, he is also trying to offload a number of players from his wage bill as they remain on lucrative contracts.

There are also members of the Stadium of Light outfit that no longer wish to remain at the Black Cats and Ross is determined to get rid of them as quickly as possible.

One man that falls in that category is Didier Ndong as the midfielder has refused to return to training. However, his Sunderland career could be about to come to an end soon, with reports suggesting there is interest in him.

The Sunderland Echo are claiming that the 24-year-old has interest from the continent and the Black Cats are hopeful that they can strike a deal with a potential suitor soon to offload him.

The Verdict:

Sunderland will do well to offload Ndong this summer as the player is thought to be on high wages.

He joined the Black Cats for a record transfer fee in 2016, however, he failed to make the desired impact on the pitch as he saw his side relegated to the Championship.

The midfielder did make a return to Premier League football last season when he was loaned out to Watford, however, he failed to make a single appearance for the Hornets and prompted a return to the Stadium of Light.
